Marylin Elizabeth Johnson is the daughter of Irene and Bill McVay. She and her brothers Bill and Paul grew up in Baldwin, Long Island. Marylin graduated from Baldwin High School where she participated in the events of Girl's Week, which celebrated the dignity and accomplishments of young ladies.
Currently, Marylin lives in Glen Cove with her husband David and their son, Jeffrey Moore where they all are active in the community. David is two term Past President of the Glen Head Rotary Club where Marylin was always there to assist the Club at various functions as a Rotary-Ann.
Marylin graduated from Nassau Community College with a degree in Mortuary Science and is a licensed New York State Funeral Director. She is a Charter Member of North Shore Rotary Club that meets here in Glen Cove, and was Past Editor of the Newsletter and active in the Club's Community Service. Marylin is an active member of the Glen Cove Republican Committee serving as a committee person. Marylin volunteered on the community garage sale in October 2005 that raised $4,000 to benefit the victims of Hurricane Katrina and was honored by Senator Carl Marcellino in 2006 for her efforts.
As a member of the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians, Marylin has served as co-chair of the Catholic Action Committee and participated in many other fundraising activities to benefit Hibernian charities. She has been treasurer of the St. Patrick's Day Parade Committee for four years. Committed to her Parish Community of St. Patrick's in Glen Cove, Marylin is involved in many aspects of Parish Life. Marylin has been a Religious Education teacher in the Faith Formation program for over 30 years and is the recipient of the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Award. She is Leader of the Charismatic Prayer Meeting and coordinates Healing Masses with the Spanish Community at St. Patrick's, as a Lay Eucharistic Minister Marylin brings Communion to the Regency at Glen Cove, as well as a lively prayer service. She and her husband David also bring Communion to the Regency on Christmas and Easter Sunday. She is currently a member of the Liturgy Committee, the Right to Life Committee, the Hospitality Committee and works with the Beacon Music Series at St. Patrick's Church.
